Dear Pinewood South Owners and Residents:
Hein Brothers is nearly ready to begin Outdoor Stairway and Deck Refinishing. They will apply a durable, three-step colorized and texturized polyurethane coating to outdoor stairways and second-floor decks. This process is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, May 12 for the phase I buildings and will take four days total (with three nights needed for proper curing).
This protective coating is an important investment that will:
• Shield the surfaces from sun, rain, snow, and everyday wear
• Extend the life of our stairways and decks for many years
• Give them a fresh, attractive color
• Add a safe, slip-resistant texture (especially helpful when wet)
• Help maintain property values and keep our community looking great.
A professional contractor will handle the work in simple stages:
- Thoroughly clean and prepare every surface.
- Apply the first coat of polyurethane.
- Apply the second and third coats (including the color and texture layers).
Each coat must dry and cure completely before the next one is applied. That is why the project is scheduled for four days with three full nights of undisturbed curing time. Please stay off the stairs and decks.
During the entire four-day period, do not walk on your outdoor stairways or second-floor deck. Walking on the fresh coating too soon can:
• Leave footprints or damage the new surface
• Create slippery or uneven spots
• Shorten the life of the coating. The contractor will place signs and barriers for your safety. We ask that you plan ahead. For those without other plans, Pinewood will pay for rooms at the Quality Inn next door for those that do not wish to stay inside their condo during the application and curing process. If you will require a room, text Greg at 608-207-6475 or email at gpgrov@protonmail.com. Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation! This project will make our outdoor areas safer and more attractive for everyone.
Sincerely, Pinewood South Board of Directors
Buildings 17 & 18 are scheduled to begin the 4 day process at 8:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 12.
