Dear Pinewood Residents:

The special assessment was passed by the Pinewood South Board on June 13th. Some last minute bid information allowed us to pare it back slightly to $9,000.00 to each unit. Mailed statements will follow with payment being due on August 1st. We ask owners to pay up front if possible but will allow 3 payments of $3000.00 each, August 1st, November 1st and February 1st as a hardship option. Third Federal Savings here in Fort Myers is offering Home Equity loans that can be used for payment at 2.99% fixed rate interest per their flyer at monthly payments of around $50 per month.

With the competitive bid having brought down the project bid price, we will also be able to paint along with the repairs project. This is ideal since long term water damage is the primary cause of most of our repair needs and fresh paint will protect our repairs investment. The project timeline should be approximately as follows: 1) Final selection of contractor within the next 30 days. 2) Obtain Permits – August and September to finalize by early October. 3) Mobilize and begin work late October or early November. I expect we will all be watching the project progress after that until Spring or early Summer. It will be a busy time when our snowbirds are here next Winter.
